water ducks

Last weekend I was out by the river and I took lots of pictures of the ducks and geese swimming on the water. In some of these I overexposed slightly to get the slightly dreamy quality of the water...

As I was walking down the river yesterday I came across a barge dog who had misplaced his owners and was obviously quite sad about it! He was really good natured and lovely to photograph though.

I underexposed this shot slightly and would love to touch it up but ufortuntely my photoshop is on another computer in a different house..

I took this shot by lying on the path and angling the camera lens upwards as he ran, I quite like the effect this gave the picture although next time I might use a slightly higher shutter speed to get rid of the blur.

ART in action..

I recently went to an art festival down in Oxfordshire called Art in Action, there were loads of beautiful artworks there as well as gorgeous gardens and these are some of the pictures I took at the event!

I'm thinking of starting to experiment with taking pictures of lightning. The UK has been sunny for so long I reckon that there may be lightning and thunderstorms brewing in the not so distant future! I've been told it's pretty tricky to get good pictures and especially one as good as the above photo. The trick is in when you press the shutter release and how long you set the exposure. I'll let you all know how my experimentation goes..
